BILL KONIGSBERG
Bill Konigsberg is an award-winning author who lives just outside of Phoenix. He lives with his husband, Chuck, and their two Australian Labradoodles, Mabel and Buford, who complete them. Bill has four published books and has a fifth on the way: Out of the Pocket, his 2008 debut, won the Lambda Literary Award. Openly Straight won the Sid Fleischman Award for Humor. The Porcupine of Truth won the PEN Center USA Literary Award and the Stonewall Book Award. Honestly Ben, the sequel to Openly Straight, was released in 2017 and received three starred reviews. I loved this episode! I stopped listening about half-way through to avoid spoilers, but thank you for this book idea, I've never read it and you made it sound very appealing. I'm looking forward to starting the series. The statement "there are a lot of books in the world" really resonated with me cuz there are so many classics that I haven't yet read, so that is validating. :) I'm still amazed by creative writers, I don't know how you do it. I'm trained to write well in my profession (technical) but still don't get how authors come up with these creative, great, detailed and nuanced stories! To me it seems like creating a painting or some other sort of art, where it's not a linear process, unlike academic writing. Well anyway, thanks for the book idea!
